General Synod Delegates
Two SDC Webinars for General Synod Delegates are taking place on
Tuesday 3 September 2024 and Tuesday 17 September 2024.
7.00-8.30pm SA time

SDC has been collecting names of General Synod Delegates who wish to attend these webinars.
Note: The SDC webinars are additional to the LCANZ webinars for General Synod Delegates which are scheduled for
14 August, 28 August and 11 September 2024

for General Synod 2024

A General Synod Delegate for 2024-2027
-
Serves for three years starting at the General Synod (4-7 October 2024);
-
Joins with delegates from parishes around Australia and New Zealand at General Synod to make decisions that affect the whole church;
-
Reads the Book of Reports which will be provided ahead of the General Synod;
-
Has discussions with their local church leaders and members before the General Synod on key matters to be decided at the General Synod, including a proposal from the Way Forward project**;
-
Learns about the Way Forward project’s progress ** and is well prepared to engage in this critical conversation at the Convention;
-
Has and maintains at least Level 1 Safe Church Training and a Working with Children type check both when you are elected and at the commencement of Convention of General Synod in October 2024;

Attends pre-Convention training - a comprehensive training webinar for all delegates via iLearn; and is
-
Prepared to vote electronically at General Synod via an app on a smart phone.
